Eric Litwin is the author of the Pete the Cat books. He is going to be doing author visits with several schools in Upstate SC in February of 2020. Eric plays two 45 minute concerts per school with interactive songs and stories. He asks that there be no more than 300 students per show. The cost is $1,650 per school, plus shared travel. Emily B. Martin
Emily B. Martin is a young adult author local to Clemson, SC. Emily prefers to present to small groups of 20-30 students, but can do larger presentations if desired. She is both an author and an illustrator (she did her book covers!), so she can present/do a demonstration in an art class, or present on the writing process, worldbuilding, writing a satisfying story arc, writing nature adventures and rugged characters, adventure girls and science guys, fantasy in general, etc. The cost would be $139.80 (a minimum purchase of 20 paperback books per presentation), along with tax and gas reimbursement. Jill Criswell
Jill Criswell is a South Carolina author. Her presentations are best suited for grades 8-12. She does not have a set fee, but requires a purchase of at least one book. She also will hold a drawing of the students in the class, and the winner will receive a signed copy of her book. Ashley Poston

Beth Revis
New York Times bestselling author Beth Revis lives in NC and charges a small additional fee to cover travel expenses. Beth is the author of multiple New York Times bestselling books across multiple genres: contemporary, fantasy, and science fiction, including ones in the Star Wars universe, as well as a series of nonfiction books suitable for teens about writing and publishing. Beth has three programs to offer. Her large keynote speech can be given to any size, from 7th to 12th grade students, for a fee of $500. The topic is on inspiration and working hard to achieve goals. Beth also has a writing workshop suitable for 5th grade and up that teaches students creative writing in a fun new way. The fee is $10/student, minimum 10 students and maximum 35, and includes a copy of a 50 page workbook that the students get to keep. Lastly, Beth is willing to do a classroom or school-wide question-and-answer session for ReadUp Greenville at no charge, with a purchase or 25 of Beth's books donated to the school or students. Jessica Leake
Jessica Leake is a local young adult author living in the Upstate area. She is willing to do a presentation to whatever size audience the school prefers. Jessica can present on 11th century Irish and Viking history, Celtic and Norse mythology, general writing/publication, and can do a Q&A. The cost is $400, or an equivalent book purchase. Scott Reintgen
Scott Reintgen is a regional author. His presentations are best suited for both middle and elementary audiences. He will waive his honorarium if the school will purchase 40 books per presentation. The school will still be responsible for mileage from Raleigh/Durham, as well as hotel stay. Scott prefers to do 2 presentations per day. Jessica Khoury
Jessica Khoury is a regional author whose presentations are best suited for 6th-12th grades. The cost is $150/hour plus travel expenses. For orders of 20+ books, she will visit for free. For orders of 10-20 copies, she will visit for half price. Jessica asks that orders be made in advance with time available for students to read prior to her visit. If an in person visit is not possible, she also offers Skype sessions at a reduced rate ($50/half hour). Her presentations can cover small classes up to full auditoriums. Jessica hosts an interactive hour designed to actively engage students in learning about the writing and publishing process through games, Q&A, and a powerpoint presentation. Jo Watson Hackl is a Greenville author. Her presentations are best suited for middle school students. She charges $1000 for a full-day or the school can instead purchase $1000 worth of her books from Fiction Addiction (preferably to donate to needy students). A.M. Morgen

Todd Gallicano

Shelli R. Johannes
Shelli R. Johannes is the author of books for all ages, from picture books to young adult fiction. She can speak to students of any age, on topics ranging from Creative Writing 101 to From Spark to Novel. The workshops also come with a study guide, reading, and activities. Ching Yeung Russell
Ching Yeung Russell is an author who is new to the Upstate. Her presentations are best suited for 4th-8th grades. The cost is $850 for three sessions or $1,100 for four sessions (45-50 minutes each) in one day. No more than 100 students per session, and one session cannot be divided into two presentations. The author cannot do two sessions in one school and two in another school on the same day. If the school which initially invites her finds other schools nearby for another author visit, that school will get a $100 reduction of the total fee. For a special event lasting up to an hour in the evening within the community or out of town, the fee is $500. For out-of-town events, traveling expenses, room and board must also be provided. Kate Beasley
Kate Beasley is a middle grade author. Her presentations are best suited to 2nd-6th graders, and she is happy to do large or small groups. She shares with students what the daily life of a writer is like, and explores the writing and publishing process. The presentation also includes group writing exercises and a Q&A. The cost is $2000 a day. If applicable, the school will be responsible to pay for airfare; Kate will book the cheapest flight available and send receipts to the school. Kate will cover any other expenses (hotel, food, etc.) herself. The school should provide books for sale, and send home order forms before the visit. John Claude Bemis
John Claude Bemis is a regional author with more than 12 years of classroom teaching experience. He would love to come and get your students excited about reading and writing! He can do 3-4 presentations within a school day, customized to the best fit of your school. He has options available for students ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. The cost is $900 per day, plus travel (mileage from Hillsborough, NC along with a hotel if the visit requires overnight stay). George Brewington
George Brewington is a South Carolina fantasy author. His presentations are best suited for grades 4-6, but has done both elementary and middle school groups. The cost is $250 per day. He does not ask for travel reimbursement within South Carolina, and donates 2 books to the school's library. George prefers small group workshop discussions, but he is ready for big groups or small. Constance Lombardo and Rebecca Petruck
Constance Lombardo and Rebecca Petruck are regional authors who can do presentations for students ranging from fourth through sixth grade. They will do two presentations in one day for groups of 50-75 students. Their presentation includes a drawing demonstration from Constance, and a demonstration of how to eat bugs from Rebecca. Christa Miller
Christa Miller is the author of Raccoon Rescue, a book inspired by her volunteer work for Izzie's Pond, a nonprofit animal rescue. Her presentations are best suited for ages 6-9, and are dyslexia friendly. The cost is $450 for all-day; single session rates are negotiable. Jonathan D. Voss
Jonathan D. Voss is a regional illustrator. His presentations are typically aimed at 1st through 3rd graders, although they can be tailored for older students. Jonathan talks about how he makes a picture, and how a picture book is made. He also does an interactive time with the students where they create they beginnings of a story and he illustrates it based on their ideas. He then takes the students through the editing process, where he shows them how to make the story and illustrations even better. In addition, he will bring in original finished art, sketches, and printed pieces, as well as do a Q&A. The cost is $400 for half day and $550 for a full day, plus any incurred traveling expenses. Nora Carpenter
Nora Carpenter is the author of the picture book Yoga Frog. She gives class presentations for elementary school students. These interactive sessions include a reading of the book with yoga poses, breathing exercises, additional yoga poses/games, and a Q&A. She is willing to tailor sessions if schools have a particular want/need in mind. Nora offers several different rates. A half-day (1 all- grade presentation OR 2 individual class sessions) is $250. Full Day Option A (2 all-grade presentations OR up to 4 individual class sessions, or a combo) is $375. Full Day Option B (3 all-grade presentations OR 2 all-grade and 2 individual class sessions) is $450. Barbara O'Connor
Barbara O'Connor is a regional author who can do presentations for students within 100 miles of Asheville, NC. The cost for a full day visit, which includes three 50 minute sessions, would be $1,500 plus hotel for the night before and mileage based on current IRS rates. Linda Ashman
Linda Ashman lives in North Carolina and is the author of forty picture books. She loves talking to kids about the writing process - from the initial idea to the published book - and the importance of imagination, revision, and resilience in any sort of creative effort. Beginning in March 2019, she's available for school visits on Fridays only (optimal grade levels: 1st through 5th), and can customize the content based on age and teachers' preferences. Susan Montanari
Susan Montanari is a regional author who can do presentations for students ranging from kindergarten through third grade. She will do two classroom sessions with no more than thirty students per group for $300 plus travel expenses. This fee will be waived with a purchase of 50 of her books from Fiction Addiction, but travel expenses still apply. Melinda Long is a regional children's author. Her presentations are best suited for elementary audiences. The cost is $1000 for a half day (2 presentations), $1400 for a full day (3 presentations), or $1800 for 4 presentations. This discounted rate is for schools within 100 miles of Greenville. Kristy Dempsey
Kristy Dempsey is the author of eight picture books. Her presentations are typically for elementary students, but she does have workshops for middle and high school students. The cost is $1250 per day with a max of 6 sessions. Meals, transportation, and lodging will also need to be provided. Derrick Barnes is a regional author. He charges $3000 for two highly interactive sessions centered around the importance of reading and writing, his upbringing, books written and path to becoming an award-winning writer. For a full day (4-5 sessions), he charges $5000. He also charges an $85 travel stipend. Derrick will be also available for Q&A sessions, book signings and photo opportunities following his presentations as well as pre-event and on-site media interviews.
