15 BAKER, CHANDLER WHISPER NETWORK
Flatiron 2019 1250319471 / 9781250319470 First Edition, First Printing. HARDCOVER in Brand New jacket.
Flatiron 7/2/2019. New hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. in Brand New jacket. Store pick: The Whisper Network is a novel whose time has definitely come. I loved it and couldnít put it down. It is told first from the perspective of women in general and then in the voice of each of the main characters. It teaches a chilling lesson of how inappropriate actions and words in the work place are often ignored, excused or justified because of pure greed or of potential harm to a career or a friendship. The lives of four women, all in-house lawyers for a large sports apparel company, will never be the same after the company CEO dies suddenly and they find out the general counsel, Ames Garrett, is slated to be promoted to CEO. For years there were whispers about Amesís treatment of women but nothing was ever openly talked about until the women decide, finally, that enough is enough. And then someone dies! -Nancy M., store volunteer

William Morrow 9/17/2019. New hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. in Brand New jacket. Store pick: Linwood Barclay is a seasoned author who just wrote one of the best thrillers Iíve read in a while. Itís a heart-pounding, definitely edge-of-your-seat story that will make you think twice about ever boarding an elevator again. A compelling and complex plot takes this breakneck speed story into its jaw-dropping ending. Great characters, a richly written story, and a paralyzing climax makes this a canít-put-it-down thriller that you will want to read without stopping! --Nancy H., store volunteer

17 BARR, NEVADA WHAT ROSE FORGOT
Minotaur Books 2019 1250207134 / 9781250207135 First Edition, First Printing. HARDCOVER in Brand New jacket.
Minotaur Books 9/17/2019. New hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. in Brand New jacket. Store pick: If you have ever been concerned about elder abuse, or wondered how well you really know your family, don't read this right before bed. While the plot is a departure from the Anna Pigeon set in National Parks, it is written with Barr's perfect character description, depth and voice. Remaining constant is the very twisted and multifaceted plot. What Rose Forgot has an incredibly fast pace, and each page has action that keeps you anxious to see what happens on the next page. Rose is a character for the ages, and no matter what she forgot, her basic nature keeps pushing her forward. The plot is timely, relevant and so well constructed that it will appeal to any reader of mystery and psychological suspense. Crown 8/6/2019. New hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. in Brand New jacket. She thinks she can go through with it but her handler feels from the beginning she will be a problem. He just has no idea how big of a problem. Libby is desperate for a child and she eventually convinces her husband that surrogacy is their only hope. He has his doubts, mainly because he doesnít think a child will be the answer Libby is looking for. You feel for both of these women and yet at the same time you often despise them both. The book begins with Libby and Ethan, aged 3, at a resort on a much needed vacation. Then Ethan steps into an elevator when Libby isnít looking and disappears.
