1 ADAMS, LYSSA KAY BROMANCE BOOK CLUB
Berkley Books 2019 1984806092 / 9781984806093 PAPERBACK .
Berkley Books 11/5/2019. New paperback. Store pick: As much as I love a good enemies-to-lovers or friends-to-lovers romance, it was nice to read this one about the struggles of maintaining an existing relationship. Romance is usually an escapism read for me, but this book made me feel seen in a way I wasn't expecting and that was refreshing. -Melissa O., store employee

5 BOBOTIS, ANDREA LAST LIST OF MISS JUDITH KRATT
Sourcebooks Inc. 2019 1492678864 / 9781492678861 PAPERBACK .
Sourcebooks Inc. 7/9/2019. New paperback. Author is from the Upstate. Store pick: I can't say enough good things about this book! As 75 year old Judith Kratt begins to make an inventory of the many beautiful antique items in her ancestral home many of the items bring back memories of her life in 1929 as a 13yo helping her father, Daddy Kratt, run his general store in the small upstate town of Bound, SC and watching how he, often ruthlessly, ran 'his' town and his family. The story is told beautifully through the voice of Judith going back a few years before the night in 1929, when her brother Quincy was murdered, to 1985. Judith is a wonderful, but complicated character and the perfect person to describe what life was like in the deeply segregated south at a time when cotton was king. She always speaks her mind, has trouble relating to others, likes things organized, and loves routines. She is the complete opposite of her younger sister who is truly a free spirit. As Judith makes her list and savors her memories her life suddenly changes. Her sister, Rosemary, who left town 60 years earlier the night their brother was killed and whom she has had no contact with since suddenly returns to Bound. Judith is forced to face more than just her happy memories, as the truth finally comes out about what really happened on that fateful night in 1929. The Last List of Miss Judith Kratt is a story to savor. Even though I wanted to know what happened the night Quincy died I didnít want the story of Judithís life to end. The writing is exquisite and paints a picture of a small southern town and its occupants from its hay days in the 20s to the 1980s where time has essentially stood still for many of the occupants. -Nancy M., store volunteer Signed by author.

7 BOYD, NATASHA INDIGO GIRL
Blackstone Publishing 2018 1538552922 / 9781538552926 PAPERBACK .
Blackstone Publishing 8/28/2018. New paperback. Store pick: Indigo Girl by Natasha Boyd is a lively historical novel about Eliza Lucas Pinckney, a 16-year-old girl left in charge of her absent father's three South Carolina plantations in 1739 and who became the first person to produce commercial-grade indigo in the American colonies. South Carolinians and fans of historical fiction will enjoy this peek into Colonial life. The novel also works as a YA crossover and should be of interest to SC history teachers. -Jill Hendrix, store owner Signed by author.

14 CHAMBERLAIN, DIANE DREAM DAUGHTER
St. Martin's Griffin 2019 1250087317 / 9781250087317 PAPERBACK .
St. Martin's Griffin 6/4/2019. New paperback. Store pick: I loved this book! It is a fascinating story about a young woman who is a widow living in the Outer Banks of N.C. in 1970. The concept of the book is time travel - how chosen people can move between certain points in time. I know! I can't begin to understand time travel and am pretty sure I don't believe it is even possible. But, this book is so beautifully written with many twists and surprises throughout that somehow you are able to forget that time travel does not really exist. You are so caught up in the story of this young woman who will do anything to save the life of the unborn child she is carrying. With references to many life changing events from the Vietnam War on up to 9/11, you will be amazed at how different life in America is in 2001 for someone who has traveled from 1970. This book is one I could not put down. I highly recommend it! Great for book group discussion. -Sandy S., store volunteer
