Bloomsbury 4/4/2017. New hardcover. in Brand New Jacket. In stock soon. Reserve your copy today! Store pick: Juliet's mother died a few months ago, and she's having trouble dealing with it. To help, she writes letters, like she did when her mom was alive, and leaves them at the grave. She never expects someone to write back. But Declan does. Declan is living with his own grief, his sister having died years ago in a wreck caused by their drunk father, and he's not dealing with his feelings well either. Surprisingly, they connect through their letters back and forth, and each is able to let out a little of what they've been holding inside. But sometimes it's easier to talk to strangers, so what will happen when Juliet and Declan get to know each other in real life and hard truths start to come out that affect both of them? Anyone who has been touched by death and grief will find something to relate to in this beautiful story of redemption. -Melissas O., store employee

IDA, ALWAYS, LEVIS, CARON
4 LEVIS, CARON IDA, ALWAYS
Atheneum 2016 1481426400 / 9781481426404 First Edition, First Printing. HARDCOVER in Brand New jacket.
Atheneum 2/23/2016. New hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. in Brand New jacket. Illustrated by Charles Santoso. Store pick: Gus and Ida are polar bears at the Central Park Zoo, and they are the best of friends, doing everything together. Then one day, Ida gets sick, and Gus has to deal with feelings he's never had before, and he has to do it without his friend. My 6-year-old, who does not like to cry, sobbed while reading this book, but she wanted to read it again and again, and event wanted to share it with her class. This book is special. It speaks to people, kids and grown-ups, even if they haven't been through something like Gus has. I love that Gus (and Ida) roars his anger at losing his friend, that he doesn't want to do anything without his friend, that it's not just left at, 'He was sad and cried a lot, but then he felt better.' There is so much more to grief than tears, and this book has captured that so well. It is a gift. -Melissa, store employee & mother of two
