301 SHEPARD, SARA ELIZAS
Atria Books 2018 1501162772 / 9781501162770 First Edition, First Printing. HARDCOVER in Brand New jacket.
Atria Books 4/17/2018. New hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. in Brand New jacket. Store pick: The Elizas starts with Eliza Fontaine waking up in the hospital after supposedly jumping into a hotel pool to try and commit suicide (she can’t swim). This is apparently not the only time this has happened, only this time Eliza is sure she didn’t jump – she was pushed. All of this occurs about a week before her first novel, The Dots, is about to be released. A book she wrote in weeks following surgery for a non-malignant brain tumor. A book her family knows nothing about. The Elizas is a book within a book where fact and fiction are hard to separate. Eliza’s family just wants to help her but are they doing more harm than good when they keep things from her. Eliza is so sure that she didn’t jump, this time at least, that she is determined to find out what has really been happening in her life. She enlists the help of the quirky young man who pulled her out of the pool, one of the few people she thinks she can trust, and they embark on a roller coaster ride that uncovers mental illness, cover ups, betrayals and lots and lots of lies. -Recommended by Nancy M., store volunteer

303 SLAUGHTER, KARIN GOOD DAUGHTER
William Morrow 2018 0062430254 / 9780062430250 PAPERBACK .
William Morrow 4/17/2018. New paperback. Store pick: I have been a huge Karin Slaughter fan since her first book. I love the Grant County and Will Trent series and always eagerly await the next book. I loved the last stand alone and think this book is even better. The dynamic between sisters, parents, spouses and the rural town population is portrayed with chilling reality. The physical damage to children and the lasting impacts of such are so real in this book it will give you chills. I find that I enjoy meeting new characters in the stand alone books as the depth of personality is so well portrayed very early in the book. -Jackie W., store volunteer (seconded by Nancy M.)

304 SLAUGHTER, KARIN KEPT WOMAN (WILL TRENT, NO 8)
William Morrow 2017 006243022X / 9780062430229 PAPERBACK .
William Morrow 4/18/2017. New paperback. 2017 Southern Book Prize Mystery & Detective Winner. Store pick, recommended by Jackie: Another thrilling and angst filled installment in the Will Trent & Sara Linton series. The Atlanta politics angle and that of the power of professional sports is a perfect backdrop for the story. The corruption is easy to imagine and can seem hopeless to overcome. I have wished Will's wife Angie to disappear in previous stories and this is no different. You know you are reading a good book when you despise a character so much it seems they are alive, and that is the case here. A must read!! -Jackie W., store volunteer

305 SLAUGHTER, KARIN PRETTY GIRLS
William Morrow 2016 0062429078 / 9780062429070 PAPERBACK .
William Morrow 4/26/2016. New paperback. Store pick: I was grabbed from the first page, and roped in on the second. This was a story that you probably wouldn’t want to read too late into the night. Boldly written, and at times, very raw, this psychological thriller was as suspenseful as it was scary! Dangerous secrets reunite two sisters who have been estranged since their older sister went missing 20 years earlier. As they search for what happened to their sister, they uncover evidence of her brutal murder and discover true evil. It is a truly gifted writer who can make you adore a character at the beginning of a book and loathe the same character at the end. Karin Slaughter has done just that in her newest stand alone thriller. -Nancy M., store volunteer

306 SLAUGHTER, KARIN UNSEEN (WILL TRENT, NO 7)
Dell Publishing Co., Inc. 2016 110188746X / 9781101887462 PAPERBACK .
Dell Publishing Co., Inc. 4/26/2016. New paperback. Store pick: Anyone who ever plans to spend anytime in Georgia should read this book. You will be convinced to be on your best behavior so you can avoid any interaction with law enforcement. The compelling story where the 'good guys' are not always good is far too believable, and the people who will ignore the system to just do the right thing are to be applauded even when their methods seem extreme. -Jackie Willey, volunteer

Roaring Brook Press 8/30/2011. New . Store pick: A board book companion to Lane Smith's bestselling picture book, It's a Book. Monkey and Donkey are back in this simplified version--this time in diapers! Donkey is curious about Monkey's book: Is it for chewing? For wearing? For emailing? Of course not! 'It's a book, silly!' My then-2- and 4-year-olds LOVED 'reading' this book, and I have to admit that even though I feel a bit silly myself wearing a book on my head, it's one of my favorites, too. ;-) -Melissa O., store employee and mother of two
