Flatiron 2017 1250118719 / 9781250118714 PAPERBACK .
Flatiron 2/7/2017. New paperback. Store pick: Janie is at her wit's end when it comes to dealing with Noah, her 4-year-old son. Noah has odd moments and requests that make it seem like he's been living a different life, even though he's never spent a night away from Janie. In a last-ditch effort, Janie contacts Jerome Anderson, an expert on reincarnation, and things start to click. Noah just wants to go home, though no one knows where that is. For Janie, solving this mystery is the only way she can see of getting her life and her son back to normal. MY LADY JANE, HAND, CYNTHIA
103 HAND, CYNTHIA MY LADY JANE
HarperCollins 2016 0062391747 / 9780062391742 First Edition, First Printing. HARDCOVER in Brand New jacket.
HarperCollins 6/7/2016. New hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. in Brand New jacket. Co-written by Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows. Store pick: While not quite historically accurate, this is a fun romp through an alternate 16th-century England in which Henry VIII is wont to turn into a lion and eat people when he is angry (it's where the phrase, 'Don't eat the messenger,' comes from), Edward VI doesn't die (though he is poisoned by his advisers, he escapes by flying out the window), Jane Grey does marry what's-his-name (just call him G), but then she finds out he's a horse (but only during the day). A little bit of history serves as the inspirational base, then add all the intrigue of a royal court, some romance, a few shape-shifters thrown in for good measure, and tongue-in-cheek humor throughout, all combining for a vastly entertaining read. -Melissa, store employee

DRY, HARPER, JANE
104 HARPER, JANE DRY
Flatiron 2017 1250105609 / 9781250105608 First Edition, First Printing. HARDCOVER in Brand New jacket.
Flatiron 1/10/2017. New hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. in Brand New jacket. Store pick: Federal Agent Aaron Falk has not been back to his home town in twenty years. Not since he and his father were run out of town on suspicion Aaron had something to do with the death of his 16 year old friend and classmate Ellie. The small country town of Kiewarra in Australia was suffering from years of severe drought. Businesses have closed and farmers are desperate so no one was terribly surprised when it seemed that Luke, Aaron's former best friend, had taken his own life and that of his wife and son. But, Luke’s parents are sure that something else has happened and they shame Aaron into agreeing to look into the deaths. Richly and flawlessly written, this story has great characters and a stunning plot. It’s hot and it’s dry and you can feel it! Every page builds suspense, and there is just enough reference to the past to keep you in suspense about what really happened twenty years ago and what really happened to Luke. -Nancy M., store volunteer

REDEMPTION ROAD, HART, JOHN
106 HART, JOHN REDEMPTION ROAD
Thomas Dunne Books 2016 0312380364 / 9780312380366 First Edition, First Printing. HARDCOVER in Brand New jacket.
Thomas Dunne Books 5/3/2016. New hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. in Brand New jacket. Store pick: John Hart’s newest novel, Redemption Road, is a thriller. Innocents are dying, people are being chased and tortured and the good guys are hard to tell from all of the bad. It is about Elizabeth Black, a decorated hero cop with a deep dark secret. But, in addition to being a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout it is a compelling and very emotional story of love – love that is sick and twisted, love that is so blind it allows horrible things to be done in its name, love so hidden by guilt it is hard to see, love born out of despair and a love that is so pure and good it allows hope to shine through. It is obvious that John Hart has poured all of his heart and soul into this beautifully written story of sadness, despair, love and hope. -Nancy M., store volunteer (seconded by Jill Hendrix, store owner, and Melissa O., store employee) Signed by author.

GIRL ON THE TRAIN, HAWKINS, PAULA
109 HAWKINS, PAULA GIRL ON THE TRAIN
Riverhead Books 2016 1594634025 / 9781594634024 PAPERBACK .
Riverhead Books 7/12/2016. New paperback. Store pick: When the main character is an admitted alcoholic and liar without much going for her I would normally not give the book much of a chance. But, Rachel’s fascination with making up stories about the couple who lived in a house she saw from her train window twice a day reminded me of Hitchcock’s Rear Window and knowing how much I loved it I kept reading. And, boy am I glad I did. The Girl on the Train is a stunning novel of psychological suspense with a host of possibly unreliable witnesses. I couldn’t wait to find out if they were all lying, or if they were just fooling themselves about what they thought happened. For all of those readers waiting for the next Gone Girl I think this is it. -Nancy M., store volunteer
